Abstract :

Recently, SrTiO3 based materials have gaining attention in the field of photocatalysis due to their tunable electronic structure. Herein present study, we utilize a facile one step sonochemical approach for the synthesis of Cr doped SrTiO3 nanoballs with variable Cr content (1, 3, 5, 7 at. %). The as-synthesized Cr doped SrTiO3 nanocatalysts were characterized using XRD and FESEM analysis. Further, the photocatalytic experimental studies on degradation of Bisphenol A reveals the material to be an excellent photocatalyst with high photocorrosion resistance and cyclic stability. The extraordinary photocatalytic activity can be attributed to the introduction of dopant energy level introduced by Cr which reduces the band gap and extends the absorption to the visible region of spectrum.
