Abstract :
Vanadium oxide-based materials, predominantly VO2 and V2O5, have gained significant attention in the field of nanotechnology due to their unique electronic, structural, and catalytic properties. Herein present study, the facile hydrothermal and sonochemical methods have been explored for the synthesis of sheet-like VO2 nanostructures. The synthesized material was studied using different physicochemical characterization techniques viz. XRD, FESEM-EDAX and XPS etc. XRD results revealed well crystalline structure of synthesized VO2. Morphological investigations using FESEM reveled layered nanosheet-like features of the synthesized material which proved to be beneficial for adsorption platform prior to photodegradation. The as-synthesized samples were employed for photodegradation of MB dye. The experimental result explored the potential of hydrothermally synthesized VO2 nanosheets as an efficient photocatalyst being able to degrade the MB dye merely within 60 mins.
