This study investigates the present conditions of groundwater resources and issues related to river conservation in Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra, India. The district is experiencing significant threats to its water resources, owing to rising water demand, agriculture-driven water extraction, and climate change-induced alterations. This study delves into the connection between groundwater depletion, local river conservation, and implications for regional water security. It evaluates existing groundwater management strategies and river conservation initiatives, while suggesting practical approaches for sustainable management.
