Author : Dr. S Shyamkiran Singh and Dr. S Priyalakshmi Devi

Abstract :

The North East region of India is rich in biodiversity, harboring a wide variety of medicinal and aromatic plants that are integral to the health and cultural practices of indigenous communities. However, climate change poses significant threats to this biodiversity, altering the distribution, availability, and potency of these medicinal and aromatic plants. This paper investigates the impact of climate change on indigenous medicinal and aromatic plants in North East India, highlighting the ecological, social, and economic implications. The study also explores adaptive strategies employed by indigenous communities to mitigate these effects and offers recommendations for conservation and sustainable management.
