Author : Dr. Lokesh CS

Abstract :

This research paper examines the impact of globalization on youth culture and identity in India, highlighting how global influences have transformed cultural practices, social values, economic aspirations, and educational opportunities for young Indians. The study reveals that globalization has facilitated a blending of traditional and modern influences, leading to a hybrid youth culture that embraces diversity while facing challenges such as inequality in access to resources. The rise of digital technology and social media has played a crucial role in shaping youth identities, allowing for greater self-expression and the formation of global connections. Additionally, the paper discusses the emergence of new economic opportunities, particularly in the gig economy and entrepreneurship, which have empowered Indian youth to redefine their professional trajectories. Despite the positive aspects of globalization, significant barriers remain, particularly in rural areas, where access to education and technology is limited. Overall, the findings underscore the dynamic role of Indian youth as both products and agents of globalization, contributing to a rapidly evolving cultural landscape. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how globalization influence’s identity formation among young people in India, offering insights into their potential as change-makers in society.
