Author : Dr. Indu Deval

Abstract :

Mining activities in the Jodhpur district have driven economic growth but have also caused significant environmental and social challenges, prompting judicial interventions. This paper aims to explore how economic development through mining can be balanced with environmental conservation in the Jodhpur district. The study uses a comprehensive case study approach, relying on secondary data from various reports and publications to analyze the environmental and socio-economic impacts of mining over the past decade. The research highlights the need for stricter environmental enforcement, the adoption of eco-friendly technologies, and increased transparency and community involvement to achieve sustainable mining practices. Judicial oversight has been crucial in regulating mining activities, but ongoing efforts are necessary to balance economic growth with environmental and community health in Jodhpur district's mining sector.
