Implementation of Reproductive Health Law in Selected Barangays in Catarman, Northern Samar

Abstract :
This study was conceptualized and designed to explore the implementation of reproductive health law in selected barangays in Catarman, Northern Samar. Specifically, this aimed to, determine the reproductive health services, measure the level of implementation of reproductive health law in selected barangays, determine the barriers encountered in accessing the reproductive health law in terms of cu and cultural, economic and geographic, draw out recommendations from the respondents in addressing the barriers.
There are ten identified reproductive health services which include: family planning, maternity and prenatal care, vaccination, sexual education, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) prevention and treatment, information and counseling, cancer screening, fertility and infertility care, and treatment for infertility.
The overall level of implementation of the reproductive health law yielded a grand mean of three point eight, which is interpreted as high.
The overall barriers encountered by the respondents in terms of cultural, economic and geographical yielded a grand mean of three point thirty-six, which is interpreted as moderate.
There are nine identified recommendations and the topmost is health care facilities and equipment’s improvement.
