Abstract :

The aim of this research project is to analyse the psychoanalysis of irresistible memories in I, too, had a love story by Ravinder Singh. The Author recounts his real-life love story as well as his memories of the women he adored in this novel. Love is universal, and this story is based on a true love story about a deep love between a girl and a boy. The novel describes the profound truth of the common subject of love. It is about true love. Ravinder Singh was working in Bhubaneswar as a software Engineer. Friends of the author are planning another get-together in Kolkata. They are very happy to see each other after many years. Ravin's close friend suggested he use the matrimonial website to find his future wife. First, he uploaded his profile to Saadi.com because he did not want to return to Bhubaneswar. After some days, the author found his girl, whose name is Khushi. They began formally chatting and later fell in love with each other. Both families accepted their love and were very happy. After that dream, he got a call from Khushi's family saying that she had died in an accident. He was completely broken. People who indulge in love are highly suspect in Indian society, and despite the country's development, there is still a lot of talk in and around the country about how bad love is. The family in this case accepted their love as well, but fate separated them. So the psychoanalysis aspects are appropriate for this story because love is a mental action that plays an important role in a person's life. The book portrays the protagonist's journey through love, loss, and the enduring power of memories. Using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory as a framework, this research aims to explore the psychological dimensions of the characters and their actions. The study employs qualitative analysis to delve into the subconscious motivations, desires, and conflicts that shape the characters' behaviour. It focuses on three primary psychoanalytic concepts: the unconscious mind, defence mechanisms, and the role of childhood experiences. By applying these concepts, the research uncovers the hidden meanings behind the characters' thoughts, emotions, and actions.
