An Ameliorative Review of Ayurveda Daily Regimen (Dincharya) in Anidra-Vriddhavastha W.S.R Anility Insomnia

Author : Amalendu Pal

Abstract :

The human lifespan is divided into three stages by Ayurveda: childhood (Balavastha), middle age (Madhyavastha), and old age (Vriddhavastha). The most susceptible period for the development of chronic illnesses is Vriddhavastha, during which time insomnia (Anidra) is among the most common. Epidemiological data from the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) indicates that about 30% of men and 40% of women over 60 experience insomnia. Ayurveda stresses the importance of daily routine (Dincharya) in promoting balanced health and preventing age-related disorders, whereas modern medicine attributes insomnia in old age to physiological decline, psychological stress, and lifestyle factors. The effectiveness of Ayurvedic Dincharya practices in preventing and treating insomnia in the elderly is assessed in this review, which also highlights holistic methods for enhancing general health and sleep quality.
