A Study on Opinion about Online Teaching among Secondary School Teachers

Abstract :

Online teaching and learning is the educational practice of delivering a curriculum online, rather than in a traditional classroom. Online teaching in secondary schools has become increasingly prevalent, presenting both opportunities and challenges for teachers. While it offers flexibility and access to a wider range of resources, it also requires teachers to adapt their pedagogical approaches and develop new skills. The Study made an attempt to know about the A study on opinion about online Teaching among Secondary Schools Teachers. The study is descriptive in nature and survey method was employed. The sample were 75 secondary school teachers were taken Data was collected from secondary school teachers of Mysore District using opinionnaire about online Teaching among Secondary School Teachers. The collected data were analysed by percentage analysis and chi square test. The findings of the study revealed that it shows that 81.3 percentage of teachers are have negative opinion of online teaching, 18.7 percentage of teachers are had positive opinion of online teaching among Secondary School Teachers. So, more numbers of Secondary School Teachers are not interested to teaching through online and there is a significant difference between male and female secondary school teachers opinion about online teaching. Because the chi-square value (12.22) is more than the table value (3.84), the significant difference between rural and urban secondary school teachers opinion about online teaching. Because the chi-square value (17.77) is more than the table value (3.84), the significant difference among government, aided and unaided secondary school teachers opinion about online teaching at the time of Covid-19. Because the chi-square value (10.09) is more than the table value (5.99).
