Abstract :
Fertility refers to a female's ability to produce offspring. Developmental time refers to the time period in which offspring achieve certain measurable changes during their development. In the present study the flies of D. melanogaster were cultured in the wheat cream agar media, 20g mass gainer media and 10g mass gainer media to understand the effect of mass gainer on the fertility in D. melanogaster. Based on research results, Drosophila raised with 10g of mass gainer had a higher fertility rate than fruit flies reared with 20g of mass gainer which had an average fertility rate and wheat cream agar media had the lowest fertility. Thus, this suggests that nutrition alters the fertility in D. melanogaster.
