The karkala taluk in Udupi district of Karnataka is located at the bottom of the western ghat west side, which is famous for small scale industries and agriculture. The people located in the region feared that if Kasturirangan report is implemented, it will force us to stop our small industries and commercial crops like arecanut and rubber. So they demand for modify the report by excluding residential and agriculture lands and they also demand for relaxation of some regulations in the report.
