A Study on Job Satisfaction Level of Employees Working in Selected Star Category Hotels of Ahmedabad

Abstract :

One of the major challenges of the hospitality industry is the retention of highly educated employees. In today’s era of emerging trends like globalization, technological advancement, and knowledge it is very important for the organizations to retain their quality employee and not to let them leave the organization (Hinkin & Tracey, 2000). Job satisfaction has a big impact on how an employee performs his job. Both elements have an impact on job safety and employee perception of it. A satisfied employee devotes himself to work, performs orders better, cares for others and for himself. The aim of the present research was to study the job satisfaction level of employees working in selected star category hotels of Ahmedabad. For that purpose, (N = 356) were selected as a sample from four and five star hotels. The result of the study indicate that there is no significant difference in job satisfaction level of employees based upon gender and marital status.
